How do I use a private browsing window?

To use incognito or private browsing mode on a Mac, open the browser and either use the shortcut Command + Shift + N or go to the File menu and select New Private Window (for Safari) or New Incognito Window (for Chrome). Other browsers like Firefox and Edge also have private browsing modes that can be accessed similarly.
Chrome
- Keyboard Shortcut: Press Command + Shift + N.
- Menu: Click the three dots in the top right, then select "New Incognito Window".
Safari
- Keyboard Shortcut: Press Command + Shift + N.
- Menu: Click "File" in the top-left corner of the screen, then select "New Private Window". You'll know it's private mode when the address bar has a dark background.
Other browsers
- Firefox: Use the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + N or go to the File menu and select "New Private Window".
- Microsoft Edge: Use the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + N or go to the three dots in the top right and select "New InPrivate Window".
