How do I find my macOS computer's IP address?

  • Method A
    1. Go to the Apple menu and select System Preferences or System Setting.
    2. Select the Network preference pane.image

    3. Select the network interface you are conneced on.  If in doubt, there should be a green circle beside it.
    4. Click on the Advanced... button.

    5. Click the TCP/IP tab.
    6. Your computer's IP address is the set of four numbers beside the IPv4 Address label.
