How do I change my password?
Last Updated 4 years ago
The preferred method of changing your password is through the standard macOS interface.
- Ensure your computer is connected to either the SD59Staff or SD59Student networks. This method does not work properly if your computer cannot access an Active Directory server.
- Go to the Apple menu and select System Preferences.
- Select the Users and Groups preference pane.
- Select your user account in the users list on the left side.
- Under the Password tab, click the Change Password button on the right side.
- Enter your current password in the Old Password field.
- Enter your desired password in the New Password and Verify fields.
- Click the Change Password button.
If the above method does not work for you, you can also reset your password through the ADFS web portal.
- Go to https://adfs.sd59.bc.ca/adfs/portal/updatepassword
- Enter your e-mail address in the Username field.
- Enter your current password in the Old Password field.
- Enter your desired password in the New Password and Confirm New Password fields.
- Click the Submit button.
When using the web portal method, you will also need to update your macOS keychain password.
