Frequently Asked Question

How do I reset my password if I have forgotten it?
Last Updated 4 years ago

Password reset requests must go through the Technical Support department.

Once your password reset request has been processed, you will be provided a temporary password.  This temporary password becomes your current password, however, you will be required to select a new password at your next login.

  1. Go to https://adfs.sd59.bc.ca/adfs/portal/updatepassword
, or attempt to log in to eServices.
  2. At the Login prompt:
    1. enter your e-mail address in the Username field, and
    2. enter your temporary password in the Old Password field.
    3. Click the Sign In button.
  3. At the Update Password prompt:
    1. enter your temporary password in the Old Password field, and
    2. enter your desired password in the New Password and Confirm New Password fields.
    3. Click the Submit button.

After resetting your password and logging back in to your account, you might see an alert that the system was unable to unlock your login keychain. You may also see prompts to unlock your keychain.  This is expected; the passwords for your user account and login keychain no longer match and therefore the system cannot automatically unlock your keycahin for you.

  1. Log out of your account if necessary.
  2. Log back into your account with your new credentials.
  3. On the alert that the system was unable to unlock your login keychain, click the Create New Keychain button.
