Sending Bus Notifications Via Email and Text

Required Access

Transportation Editor

All Routes Running as Scheduled

  • Go to https://drupal7.sd59.bc.ca
  • Login at the top of the screen
  • Go Content > Add Content > Busing Notification
  • Set the status drop down to On Schedule (It's the default)
  • Check Dawson Creek and Chetwynd
  • Check box for Broadcast After Create/Update
  • Fill in the body field (this is emailed and text to the signed up users)

If a Route is Changed to Cancelled or Running Late

  • Go Content > Add Content > Busing Notification
  • Set the status drop down to On Schedule (It's the default)
  • Check the box for the affected route
  • Check box for Broadcast After Create/Update
  • Fill in the body field (this is emailed and text to the signed up users)

If an Entire Area is Cancelled (After Previously Expecting to Run)

  • Go Content > Add Content > Busing Notification
  • Set the status drop down to Cancelled
  • Check the box for the area route
  • Check box for Broadcast After Create/Update
  • Fill in the body field (this is emailed and text to the signed up users)

If Things Get Messed Up and You Don't Really Know How to Fix it

  • Creating a new post and broadcasting it will send out a new message, there no undo.

Tips and Tricks

  • If a route is late in the morning, you do not need to do anything to the notification system for the afternoon.
    • It only needs to be changed on the District Website
