All Routes Running as Scheduled
- Go to https://www.sd59.bc.ca
- Login at the bottom of the screen
- Go Content > Add Content > Busing Service Update
- Set the status drop down to On Schedule (It's the default)
- Check Dawson Creek and Chetwynd
- Using the areas instead of the individual routes, has a cleaner look, creates less confusion and is less work for you
- This can be adapted if you know that only one area is running(only check the On Scheduled area)
- Don't worry about the body field. It is currently not displayed anywhere (will eventually be used with the new notification system).
If an Entire Area is Cancelled (After Previously Expecting to Run)
- Go Content
- You will have a list of Busing Service Updates listed there (probably only one)
- Click Edit next to Busing Service Update
- Uncheck the now cancelled area
- Save the changes
- Go Content > Add Content > Busing Service Update
- Set the status dropdown to cancelled
- Check the appropriate checkboxes for the affected area
- Don't worry about the body field. It is currently not displayed anywhere.
- You will end up with two records one that says one area is cancelled and one that says the other area is on schedule
If a Route is Changed to Cancelled or Running Late
- Go Content > Add Content > Busing Service Update
- Fill out the status dropdown
- Check the appropriate checkboxes for the routes
- Don't worry about the body field. It is currently not displayed anywhere.
- You will end up with two records one that says Dawson and Chetwynd are running on schedule (from the first post) and a specific post about the individual route running late or cancelled
If Things Get Messed Up and You Don't Really Know How to Fix it
- Go to Content
- For each Busing Service Update:
- Click Edit next to it
- Click Delete at the bottom
- Confirm that you want to delete it
- Go to the sections above to re enter data
Tips and Tricks
- If a status affects an entire region only check the region
- If a status affects an individual route only check that route
- In a given day, a check mark for a given area or region should only be on one record
- If that needs to be changed, edit or delete the existing record instead of creating a brand new one (it doesn't overwrite the old one)
- If everything goes to hell, delete all the records on the Content page and start over.
- Don't both with the Body field on the District website, it isn't displayed or sent anywhere.
