Last Updated 2 years ago

These instructions cover how to manually install the SD59 root certificate used for network decryption.

The SD59 root certificate should already be installed on your iPad or iPhone if it has been enrolled in Intune device management, and manual installation and enablement should not be necessary.

First, you will need to download and install the root certificate:

  1. Go to the download page, then tap the download link for the SD59_Root_Trust.mobileconfig file.
  2. Next, you will be prompted that you are downloading a configuration profile.  Tap Allow on the confirmation message that appears, then tap Close on the following instructional message.
  3. Go to your home screen, then tap on Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.
  4. Under the Downloaded Profile section, tap on the School District #59 Trust profile.
  5. In the top-right corner, tap the Install button.
  6. Enter your passcode when requested.
  7. In the top-right corner, tap the Install button, then tap the red Install button at the bottom to confirm.
  8. Click Done to return to the VPN & Device Management page.

Next, you need to enable the root certificate:

  1. Tap Back to go to the General settings page.
  2. Tap About, then tap Certificate Trust Settings at the bottom of the page.
  3. In the Enable Full Trust for Root Certificates section, toggle the School District #59 Root CA switch on.
  4. Click Continue in the warning message that appears.
